- Pick one open boxDecide which empty box suits the dice in front of you. Every box can be used once per game.
- Enter the score or scratch itWrite the points the box allows. If the dice do not fit anywhere useful, scratch a box by writing 0 in it.

Score card boxes explained
The card has two halves. The top half rewards collecting one number; the bottom half rewards poker-style patterns. Here is what each box wants, in our words.
| Box | What counts | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Ones to Sixes | Only the dice showing that number | Sum of those dice (for example, three 4s = 12) |
| Upper bonus | Top six boxes add up to 63 or more | 35 |
| Three of a kind | At least three dice match | Sum of all five dice |
| Four of a kind | At least four dice match | Sum of all five dice |
| Full house | Three of one number plus two of another | 25 |
| Small straight | Four numbers in a row, such as 2-3-4-5 | 30 |
| Large straight | Five numbers in a row, 1-5 or 2-6 | 40 |
| Yahtzee | All five dice the same | 50 |
| Chance | Any five dice | Sum of all five dice |
| Extra bonus | Another five of a kind after the Yahtzee box already holds 50 | 100 each |
Upper bonus and extra-Yahtzee bonus
The magic number for the top half is 63. That is what you get with three of each number (3 + 6 + 9 + 12 + 15 + 18), and reaching it earns a flat 35 points. Four 6s can make up for two missing 1s, so the card shows how far ahead or behind 63 you are as you go.
Worked example. A player scores 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 in the top boxes. The subtotal is 63, so the bonus is 35 and the upper total is 98. In the bottom half they record 20, 24, 25, 30, 40, 50 and 22, which is 211. The grand total is 98 + 211 = 309. If they later roll five of a kind again, they press the +100 button and finish on 409.
The extra bonus only applies when the Yahtzee box already holds 50. If that box was scratched with a 0, later five-of-a-kinds earn no extra 100. Where the extra roll is placed on the card (often called the joker rule) varies between groups, so the card leaves that choice to you.
